Let's try this again ...

Ok so I am very bad at updating this on a regular basis. Maybe it's more that I don't have much to say, or don't feel what I have to say anyone will find important. 

Thoughts ----

What's wrong with people. In the news today, teachers sleeping with students, parents killing infants, and someone leaving a new born baby to die on the side of the road. Maybe we need a bit more prayer in our life and a bit less "me" in our lives. People need to remember that it isn't all about them, they need to do their best to help the less fortunate where possible. 

Rant ---

Very frustrating to interview with a company for months, for them to say they are working on an offer, then for them to say they "aren't ready" . You were ready almost 3 months ago when you started the process.  Very frustrating, very very frustrating. I will learn, and move on to other opportunities.

Technology -

 Struggling with the use of google services, in an iOS device world. I am a true Apple Fanboy, but their services need improvement, especially Calendar and Mail.

Why no integration of FaceTime and iMessage ? Into something more like Hangouts or Skype. 

Liking the direction that ChromeOS is going. If Android wasn't such a mess of ugliness. ( and iOS wasn't sooooo lovely) I might go back to android.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds in wearable technology. The nike fuel band se is my current "like" as it's the most comfortable on my wrist and has good app integration. It will be interesting to see what Apple comes out with.

AppleTV ? Upgrades ? Hmmm

Almost time to start gardening again :) going a lil smaller scale this year. 

And I can't have a blog post with out mentioning Hollis. My pride n joy, growing every day. Her smile warms my heart. I love all my children (yes even the oldest) but there is something special about the smile of a baby girl. 

The Seahawks won the Super Bowl!!!!!! 

Only a few more week until Lent.

Had a great weekend, went out with friends on Friday night, Hannah had a few too many Long Island Ice Tea's. Saturday we signed a new lease for our place in Kennewick, and then went to a birthday party for a friend. We had a good time.

Sunday we went to the McNary Wildlife Refuge, it is a nice place, we will surly be back. Lots of birds of all types. We need to buy better binoculars though.

We also went and got some more bird food for the feeders at home, the lil birds seem to enjoy it.

Right now I am eating some Greek yogurt with blueberries and Hannah's home made granola. VERY YUMMY ! Mowgli is staring at me, I think he wants some. :)

new bottles

it has been a while

OK, so it has been over a year since I blogged last (except for the mobile test). I have a new job, and moved to the Tri-Cities. I really like the new job, and the Tri-Cities is slowly growing on me. The people here seem pretty nice, the folks at work are great, and it seems like a real good company. We (ok Hannah did) found a real nice place to rent, and enjoy the neighborhood.

We finally got some birds in the bird feeder, after I moved it off the back porch and onto the tree in the front yard. I bought another feeder and some regular seed tonight at Walmart. I hung it in the tree after we got home. The birds should enjoy it in the morning. I was very happy to finally see birds in the first feeder this morning, after it sat for a few weeks on the back porch with no birds noticing it. I also put out some suet. I hope the birds like it. It has been cold the last few days.

Tonight I got our new printer setup and working. I can print to it from my mac, my iPhone and my iPad. It is an HP Envy 100 printer, so it also has webapps of its own. Kinda neat.

Ok, enough rambling for now.

Testing Mobile Blogging

SMACK! 1/30/2010

Well the "transition" smacked me in the face on December 7th. My position at my employer was eliminated and I was laid off,first thing Monday morning on my first day back from vacation. What a great way to start off a week.

So since them I have been networking and looking for a new position. I have had a few phone interviews but nothing solid yet. Hopefully soon something will pan out.

On the technology side I have been looking at different Radio streaming providers. Last.FM, Pandora, and Slacker are the three I have tried. I like all of them, need to figure out which one I like best and stick to it.

I have also been playing with Boxee. A GREAT Media Center app. It is one of those things that makes me wish I had more media to work with. I guess I need to get to ripping those dvd's I have. Boxee also has some great apps, allowing you to get media from a HUGE number of different places (including Pandora and Last.FM, no Slacker app that I know of).

Ok that is enuf ramblin for now. Wish me luck in my job search !
